Walking alone…

meSometimes you have to walk alone in order to succeed. Drop all of the ney-sayers, focus on your goal and don’t let anyone derail you from your path. It’s not always easy, in-fact in at times can be incredibly difficult and sometimes these people can be the closest people to YOU. Being able to let go of things that hold you back will allow you to fly heights you’ve may only dreamed of.

Best of Vegas 2014 – the under dog of 2014

2014-12-07 09.13.5712/7/2014 – Best of Vegas took place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in side with Import Face Off.

This day was fun, after I spent nearly a week with my car being down due to a bad clutch and when I ordered the clutch I had it ready for the swap but the clutch never showed up till 3 days later. My car was now the only s12 there. The lot is the same as it has been any other IFO, a giant box and the course was designed for high powered cars or atleast it felt like it and it felt intimidating. Don’t get me wrong I did connect the course a few times, but others was struggling worse then me.

On this day I had fun, I had a lot of runs and seat time, I felt a great change from the old clutch to this one and over all I had fun, I wasn’t at top notch but I had a few runs.

Driving a car that was from your childhood era is really an experience of its own, a car you never known existed till you are more mature in life or if you are the lucky one to have the money for your first car.  You learn quickly that this car has its own character, it has a soul, and by grabbing the steering wheel and taking it for a drive is the car’s way of saying: “Sit back and enjoy, let me tell you my story.”

Vegas Drift has announced. about the 2015 year, it seems to be very exciting news for even the grassroots of drifting. This 2015 year I plan to utilize my GoPro and start a weekend in the garage to upload to Youtube segment called the GFunk Garage and share my love for the s12.

Here is a collection from my GoPro of most of my runs.

House Warming – Going away BBQ & Drift Day

20140823_175321_zpsimyum0arToday was a good day, started off a little crazy but in the end we had a small car show in my new house area.  Yet I am still working on moving in still due to some family issues I am not fully moved in as of yet. But this day I expected only 2 people showing up, instead alot more shown up from the s12’s(200sx) to the z31(300zx) and a few s130’s (280zx). Even Aaron the dude with a crazy FC RX7 showed up in his first gen Toyota Camry.

I pulled my old BBQ that I had for over 10 years and brought it over to my house this day. It was a great pleasure to run with Waylon Deno, I went into the s12 after seeing the s12 drift from his silver hatch on youtube when I was in Oregon, inspired me to go into something I believe is a bit better then picking up an s13 / s14 and jump into the drifting scene to be burned out in a year or 2. I learned to have a great passion for autosports when I was in Oregon and when I returned to vegas I learned to love the s12 even more when I picked up the SEv6.  When you own an s12 you own a passion for any type of autosports and not frown upon when you roll up or smoke that Camaro or even do crazy modifications to improve the performance.

I believe that is why this picture just doesn’t represent s12’s but this is more of the silhouette autosports team in the Las Vegas. We have the love for the cars we build to modern or old school ways and not limited to the regulations. We all came together as one and have a great time from a simple poke around my second s12 to firing up the grill as I would call “pot luck” BBQ.

Vegas Drift 035 is a write up I did not do, so I will start off here. VD035 was first event of this year at night time, blistering hot and humid days in Las Vegas. I was having difficult keeping the car cool for some odd reason and my SAFC-2 was not working like it should as it kept on shorting out. This is what got me stuck in the sand trap in VD034, first couple of runs I was doing alright had a few spin outs due to the tires are getting too weak. I was also waiting for my newish tires to be mounted so I kicked back and waited. Waylon didn’t show up at this point and it is very odd because he normally doesn’t miss an event. After I got my tires mounted, I messed around with the coil wire and accidentally placed it in the wrong spot causing my car to stop as I took off from the starting line. *ops*

When fixed I did a few good drifts and ended up calling it quits due to the lines was getting too long at 11pm and at this time my car had weird issues just idling and over heating.

20140823_185844_zpsjuqaszsvVegas Drift 036 write up started shortly after we cruised down Nellis Blvd to Las Vegas BLVD north and drove to the speedway.  By this time I removed the SAFC-2 and my car ran great with out it, matter of fact it ran like a champ. Also upgraded the exhaust and deleting the cat with a straight pipe.  Loudness is alright, but performance wise making my car feel like it is slipping on the gears and at this point I made it clear I don’t do anything major unless it is an emergency with 100+ degree’s outside it is insane to work in that heat.

VD036 was the second and last night session. Instead of a reverse R as the main course they had drift anywhere doughnut feel. It was not fun at all to drift / drive so I participated after a few runs on the main course with the wet course where it was setup like a small reverse R. The driver lines though was insane once again, 10 – 15 minute wait till it was my tire for seat time.

That night I used only 1 set of tires and I got some seat time in. We all gave ride-a-longs  But it was a fun night regardless and a good by to a friend.
