Well, the carb concept was a great idea and all but I have to take a step back due to I have 4 s12’s and only 1 is running at the moment in time.
I am now going back to EFI setup as it was setup before, this is only temp till I can get the black and red car operational where I can afford to put this car back down.
Turns out I had my Hydraulic Lifters upside down, no biggie as I was able to fix that after a facebook point out of what I was doing wrong. Turns out I Had everything else right so if I didn’t have the hydraulic lifters upside down it would of started on Saturday and I would be testing the build out at the track. I am pushing for the Street Driven Event. So we will see what happens.
I didn’t expect it to run off the first turn of the key, so when it started I grabbed my phone and took the first available video.
Second video before the starter came off track.
Turns out I needed to tighten the bolts down to the transmission to the block.
WHen all complete.
Here is idle #1 and pre-mature tuning.
My second idle with adjustment to the idle screw.
Only problem right now is, I need to know the temperature of how she is running so currently the wire from the intake is not connecting to the right wire for the gauge. Once I get that down I can lock in the timing light and start the A/F ratio tuning.
Then when it is locked down I will take her for a test drive.
Finally, I have received my distributor. I highly recommend not to use this company DUI Performance Distributors again because they took about a month to process an order and when they did I had to constantly keep with them with the communication as they never communicated with me what is going on and why it is taking this long, it is much easier to take a simple to convert your current dizzy with a pertronix magnetic pickup designed for GM or Ford v6 module. But you can see how monstrous this module is, and built just like an MSD Spitfire distributor which if I had any doubts this is exactly a built v6 msd spitefire just relabeled.
Here is the install as you see, it does fit. But there is a problem with this as I do not have something to lock it down like the previous distributor. So with a little help as I have very little help with anything of what I do nor the support.
Here is how she looks with it completely installed, I am now int he process of troubleshooting and working out all the bugs.
The corpse grind on this build is what I get to do something for fun, as today my distributor is to be delivered today. This is what an ex-gray hat hacker does on his free time from his Idiocracy Technology job.
Cams installed, Cam gears set, I had a problem with the driver side head I had to tap a few screws with but I was able to get it secure down. New upper and lower gaskets, holding fluids very well. I am ready for this distributor.
I am a bit scared yet excited at the same time as I am taking on a beast I never taken on before. I had a chance with taking on the carburetor before when I owned a 1965 Mustang Coupe.
Will post an update after the first initial startup tonight.
This isn’t some normal swap, Nissan 200sx SEv6 ( Nissan Silvia 12 ) is a monster build.
I had to pull the motor out for a major overhaul. I am sure I have misspalced a ton of bolts in the process. I sent out the cam shafts to get them grind-ed to the 264 package by Schneider Racing Cams. Then I sent off the Cam Gears to Russ with z31parts. Doing so will help with the small upgrade with the head with my fuel management system being switched to an analog system.
I have so far pulled the motor, cleaned up the engine bay, and did a full re-ring kit on the pistons. All the races and bearing was solid and clean and still to spec so they where not needing to be replaced.
Next is I cleaned up the block some I had to clean up a lot of grim and dirt that built up over time. I am now in the process of putting the motor back in, cleaning up the heads to accommodate the shiny cam gears.
